Is Cold Fusion here?

Sat, 01/22/2011 - 3:31am

I came across an article yesterday that really grabbed my attention. Researchers in Italy claim to have a cold fusion reactor up and running and producing substantial energy. They state they are "well past the research phase; they plan to start shipping commercial devices within the next three months."

I sure hope they are for real. If so, this is big....game changing.

Their reactor works by fusing nickel and hydrogen. They aren't entirely sure exactly how it works, but the fact that it is producing copper and substantial amounts of energy shows that it is working. They have been developing this reactor for many years and have one that has been heating a factory continuously for the past two years.

Nickel is cheap...and abundant. We're talking about being able to totally power and heat your house for over a year for about a dollars worth materials. How awesome would that be? Not to mention, completely eliminating carbon emissions.

What really gets me, and totally sets these guys apart from other researcher in the field, is they aren't looking for money. They aren't out to attract venture capitalists, or convince anyone that it works. They're not just talking the talk, they're walking the walk. They are manufacturing reactors to sell. And with the time lines they are discussing, we should know real soon if they are for real.

It's hard to believe the mainstream media won't touch a story that even mentions cold fusion, even though cold fusion reactions have been replicated in thousands of research labs and universities around the world. For some reason, mainstream scientist and news reporters still blow it off, without even looking at the data.

On the other hand.....they are from the University of Bologna.

Here's an article about it:
